The visit offered a valuable opportunity to explore technical approaches to observing consumer behaviour in a realistic retail environment, and to discuss the design and configuration of supermarket spaces from both a research and applied perspective.
A further focus of the day was placed on gaining insights into the practicalities of engaging with large food retail companies, including the conditions and strategies under which such partnerships can be established for specific research topics and collaborative projects.
The visit provided important impulses for the further development of the Super.Uni.Markt. The exchange helped to identify concrete possibilities for improving its technical setup and design, as well as for expanding its use in experimental research. We look forward to translating these insights into practice and to strengthening the role of our laboratory supermarket as a key research infrastructure.
