The Web of Science Group has published its 2025 Highly Cited Researchers list. This annual index identifies researchers who have authored multiple publications ranking in the top 1% by citations for their respective fields and publication years, indicating significant engagement by the academic community.
Among those recognized is Prof. Dr. Jan Börner, Professor for Economics of Sustainable Land Use and Bioeconomy at the University of Bonn. He holds joint appointments at the Institute for Food and Resource Economics (ILR) within the Faculty of Agriculture and the Center for Development Research (ZEF).
Prof. Börner’s empirical research applies economic and policy analysis to global environmental challenges. His primary areas of focus include:
